Prep Work
Prices include basic prep work. I prefer to do my own prep work as I have seen some models not prepped correctly and don’t want any of my supplies to react negatively to it. I want the best experience for my clients!
I do not accept models that require repair, or re-sculpting of any kind at this current moment. I plan to have that as an extra option later on. If the model has been damaged during shipping, we will discuss options to continue (I may be able to do slight repairs upon seeing the damage).
Photos of your model prior to me obtaining it are required to determine the extent of prepping. If a model requires extensive prepping (ex: needs to be fully stripped, sanded, and prepped), an additional cost may be added. A buyer can supply model themselves and ship to me at buyers expense, or I can supply the model myself at an extra cost (details can be discussed). I currently only accept Breyer models as I am not yet familiar with resins or 3D prints.
The Process
These commissions are for paint work only. As stated in the prep section, I am not currently doing any sculping or repairs. These models take time to create, 20-40+ hours depending on size, especially with extra prep work before hand. I do my absolute best to work in a timely manner, however I work full time outside of painting so I cannot guarantee a specific finished time frame. If you have a set date that you need a model completed by (ex: for a Christmas or Birthday gift) please communicate that with me and we will discuss.
All of my work is a combination of airbrush, pastel, and hand painted acrylic. Models are sealed in a matte sealer while eyes, hooves and the mouthline will be glossed for realism. I do my best to create a smooth, clean finish, but minor issues may be found (ex: brush strokes, small bumps, speckling). I do not do glossy finishes at this time.
I love to send out photo updates of your piece along the way, but if you wish for everything to be a surprise at the end, just let me know! Seeing the progress can be fun, as well as a great way to tweak things along the way if the process hasn’t gone too far to reverse.
Payments
Payments are taken with PayPal G&S only. Paid in full is always preferred, but not required. I require a 25% non-refundable payment up front, and the remainder of the payment is required once the model is completed. If you need time payments, I offer payments to be made no longer than 4 months after the model has been finished. Any money put down towards the model is non-refundable. I fully understand life can throw some curveballs at you, so I am completely willing to work with you when needed. However, should I not hear back from the buyer within one month of communication, I reserve the right to cancel the transaction and resell the piece.
All sales are final. No refunds or returns are accepted.
Shipping
Shipping is not included in the final cost. I ship directly to zip code and currently only ship to the continental US. All shipping is at the buyer’s expense. Shipping is also at the buyer's risk. Once the model leaves my hands I am not liable for any damage or loss during transit. I prefer to ship USPS Priority, but other options can be discussed.
I pack all my models with love! They are my babies and handled with great care! I know that I’d want my own models to be treated with care, so I try to go above and beyond to get them to you safely! I include tracking and insurance is strongly recommended, but is at the request of the buyer.
